Converter (unit conversions) app for iPhone and iPad
"A very nice, no-frills tool—the best of the lot." —Macworld Magazine (4 mice)
The easiest unit converter in the App Store is back and better than ever!
Converter helps you with the mess of units you encounter in your everyday life. Convert from feet to yards to meters to miles with only a few taps. Converter handles 76 measurement units of eight common types, including length, weight, temperature, speed, data, volume (including common cooking units like teaspoons), area, and time. And you can subscribe to our daily exchange rates to add support for 161 currencies.*
Converter is designed for easy, casual use, with big, beautiful displays that are usable in all light conditions and at arms length. And it includes a four-function calculator for those times when you have twelve three-pound widgets and you need the kilogram equivalent.

* An optional Latest Exchange Rates subscription unlocks the currency converter and provides daily exchange rate updates for one year. Subscriptions are auto-renewing and are charged to your iTunes account. Your first year will be charged as soon as you subscribe; subsequent years will be charged up to 24 hours before the previous period expires. You can cancel at any time through the "Manage Subscriptions" button in Converters About screen or your iTunes accounts settings. Please cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid being charged. For terms of use, see https://www.architechies.com/apps/converter/ios/help/terms.
Pros and cons of Converter (unit conversions) app for iPhone and iPad
Converter (unit conversions) app good for
I primarily use this tool to convert between Pounds / Kilograms and Ounces / Litres when Im at a grocery store and confronted with units that dont match my shopping list. In this respect, it is indispensable.
In that respect, having a local application function without web access is critical, as cell reception tends to be spotty in my favourite grocery store.
It should support Power, though I doubt Id ever use Flow.
There are a few minor UI things that I would like changed, in order of importance:
1. In the Calculator view, when entering the number, the blue display at the top acts like an equals (=) button. It should also act as a Back button when the value is already a singleton (3) instead of a formula (1+2). This would provide a MUCH larger target to hit for the common use case of entering a number and returning to the comparison screen.
2. In the Select Unit view, the units are listed only by their full name (U.S. Fluid Ounces), but also seen by their short form (fl.oz.) elsewhere. I dont know both forms for some of the more exotic units, so its hard to find them when one only knows the short form. The Select Unit view should show both forms, with the latter right-aligned in the row.
3. In the Calculator view, when entering a formula, the blue display shows the entered values and operator (1+2). It would be very nice to enter an entire formula (eg: 1+2+3 Kg) and compute it all at once.
This is an excellent app. Please add European to US clothe and shoe size converter.
Everything but the currency is accurate and its a very nice interface worth the 99 cents! Buy this app!
Ive tried two other converters, this one is by far the easiest to navigate, with a nice simple interface.
Could use a few other measuring types, or the ability to add your own
Bubbly bob. Youre an idiot. Learn the metric system before trying to convert volume per volume into distance per volume.
Some bad moments
Need a converter that can convert UK cooking measurements to North American.
I have done everything I can think of... deleting all applications, reinstalling them... syncing it continuously... restarting my computer and the application just wont pop up on my Touch.
Very frustrating.
The one time I need to use this app it couldnt even convert Liters per100 KL to MIles per Gallon . What a waste of money and time. This App is a DO NOT BUY ! there are better ones out there for free !
When it worked it was great, but dont like paying for an app that crashes and then get Server Error when you go to their support page.
why is this not a universal app. Why do we have to download separate versions for each device. It doesn’t make sense.
There should be one version for all devices.
Ever since I upgraded to iOS4 your program keeps crashing on me. Please come out with a update to fix this problem. Thanks
